Standards and filtration category
Broyx 4P1 filters are part of the Sport 500 and 700 Broyx face masks, and together they make a personal protection equipment (PPE) product that is certified compliant with standard EN149:2001 + A1:2009.The filtration category is: FFP1 NR. These face masks carry the required CE safety marking.
How does the Broyx filter work?
Solid and liquid particles are removed as air passes through the filter layers. It's one of the most effective methods to filter out particles in the air. This high efficiency is due to the filtering layer's special structure. The fabric's fibres are electrostatically charged, which attracts aerosols (suspended particles) in the air and helps them be caught by the filter.
Make up of a Broyx filter
The Sport 500 and Sport 700 Broyx filtering face masks are equipped with a Broyx 4P1 filter. This filter is made up of the following four layers (numbered from exterior to interior): 1. Pre-filter: for large aerosols
2. Active carbon filter: to neutralise certain odours and aerosols
3. Nanoparticle filter: This is the main electrostatically charged filter. 4. Hydrophobic membrane: to keep moisture away from the filter
Does this mask filter gases?
No. While the active carbon layer in the replaceable filter can filter certain odours, this mask DOES NOT FILTER OUT GASES in the air.
How long does a Broyx filter last?
European standard EN-149 was created to ensure the protection of individuals in the workplace. It assumes that these masks are used for work purposes and not for sports or in an urban environment. For this reason, it is recommended to CHANGE THE FILTER AFTER 8 HOURS OF USE.
The filters are disposable and cannot be washed or reused.
Replacing the original Broyx X-MF4P1 filter
