Directions for use
This microfilter enables you to filter the water directly from waterpoints encountered along the way, to hydrate yourself immediately and fill your flask or water bladder with drinking water. Easy to use one handed, it filters one litre of water in a minute, to enable you to quickly get back on your way. Only weighs 142 g (5 oz), it enables you to drink directly from a waterpoint (without having to lie in the mud).
Functions
The product is made from a pre-filter (to eliminate the largest particles in suspension), a 40 cm tube, a pump, a hollow fibre filter as well as a spout with a top.
When the filter is blocked, you can replace it using the Trail Shot spares kit.
Do not drop or freeze the product.
Care instructions
Clean the filter cartridge every 8 litres to avoid the accumulation of dirt and lengthen the filter lifespan.
1/ Pump until the bulb is half full.
2/Shake the filter for 20 seconds.
3/ Unplug the water inlet tube.
4/ Press the bulb to get the dirty water out.
5/ Plug the tube back in.
If the pre-filter is blocked, shake it in water to dislodge debris.
First use
Rinse the entire product 3 times with clean water before first use.
Materials and regulations
The Trail Shot microfilter uses hollow fibre technology to eliminate bacteria and protozoa as we as particles in suspension. This filter does not eliminate viruses.
Complies with the standards of the American Environmental Protection Agency- EPA) relating to the cleanliness of drinking water and the protocol of standard NSF P231 concerning the elimination of bacteria (99.9999%), protozoa (99.9%) and particles.
Important notes
Use the cleanest and clearest water possible.
If you filter silty, cloudy, muddy water or from a glacier, the filter will quickly clog up.
To treat water that is likely to contain viruses, use a disinfectant or purifying product.
