The state of Hawaii has decided to ban the use of certain chemicals in sunscreens by passing the Hawaii Law, which came into effect on 1 January 2021.
The Hawaiian law covers chemical substances such as oxybenzone and octinoxate, which are commonly found in sun creams but are likely to harm or even destroy coral reefs.
