TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS
Environmental improvements of 20% CO²-eq
We have made 3 improvements to the new 2022/23 winter products:
_ no plastic packaging for a cardboard box,
_ minimal volume total packaging to optimise transport and not transport air,
_ the lip balm formula now contains 77% natural ingredients according to the ISO16128 standard,
_ the sun cream formula now contains 75% natural ingredients according to the ISO16128 standard.
Ocean Respect
Decathlon is committed to this issue and this product has been designed to reduce the environmental impact, particularly on the seabed.
The formulas have passed ecotoxicity tests on algae and coral at an independent laboratory according to the ISO 10253/ISO 8692 standards.
The results of these tests are that our formulas have no negative impact on the marine fauna and flora under normal use conditions.
Hawaii law compliance
To protect the underwater eco-system, the State of Hawaii has decided to ban the use of some chemical substances in sun creams by passing the Hawaii law, in force since 1 January 2021. This law lists chemical substances such as oxybenzone and octinoxate that are often found in sun creams, which are likely to weaken or destroy coral. Our formulas comply with this requirement.
Precautions for use
Apply cream 20 minutes before exposure to the sun.
Apply generously and evenly before sun exposure and re-apply at least every 2 hours. Avoid the sun when it is at its strongest. Sunburn is dangerous, especially for children. Do not expose babies and young children to the sun and heat.
Not suitable for children under 3 years old.
Avoid direct contact with clothes.
Quality Commitment (1/2)
Decathlon is going further than international cosmetic regulations and has banned more than 1000 controversial substances that we don't want in our products, even if they are authorised on the market. For example, recognised endocrine disruptors and certain preservatives.

When it comes to UV filters we are extremely demanding and only authorise a small list of UV filters in our products that have been approved by our toxicologist as the least harmful to our health or the environment.
