NW 980, the new waterproof Nordic walking shoes for competition!
Nordic walking is a fully fledged sport, and that's why Marc, Séverine and David, together with Nordic walking competitors, have developed these new waterproof NW 980 shoes.. A whole new flexible sole that gives you bounce along with great grip. We kept the gaiter to stop small stones from getting in and the lace-holder to prevent laces from trailing. Get ready for new sensations!
Why is it important to choose a special shoe for Nordic walking?
In Nordic walking, you place the heel on the ground first, then roll out the foot until the toes hit the ground for propulsion. These shoes provide optimal flexibility and enhanced cushioning under the heel and metatarsus, the areas that suffer the most when walking.
What is the Flex-H technology?
The exclusive Flex-H concept follows the natural action of the foot thanks to three flex grooves in a H pattern. Studies undertaken in Decathlon SportsLab have identified the metacarpophalangeal joints are both the flexion zone and the main support zone of the foot in fitness walking. Thus, our design teams placed flex grooves on both sides of this joint in order to help walking while remaining comfortable.
To ensure your feet are comfortable:
- Choose the right shoe size. When walking, you do not necessarily need to take one size up.
- Choose a shoe whose shape is suitable for your foot
- Adjust/tighten the laces to ensure your foot is supported properly and don't hesitate to re-lace your shoes during your walk
- Avoid new socks when wearing your new shoes for the first time
- Use socks which are higher than the built-in sock liner
What is Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is done with specific poles for all types of terrain, to propel your body forwards and tone up your entire body.
