Analysing the product's environmental footprint enabled us to identify the most impactful stages of its life cycle. Thanks to this approach, our design teams were able to develop this product while significantly reducing its environmental impact.

Metal - Material choice
Substitution of aluminum with steel to decrease the environmental impact
The environmental challenges of metals are mainly related to the large amount of energy required and the pollution of soil and water during their manufacture. Compared to steel, aluminium production requires much more energy to be extracted from the original ore and therefore has a greater contribution to climate change. - Aluminium = 11.3 to 24.1 kgCO2eq depending on the country of origin - Steel = 2.29 to 2.34 kgCO2eq depending on country of origin

Dope dyed
100% of the fabric color is made by dyeing the yarn at the source
Dyeing textiles requires lots of water but also leads to lots of water waste generated in dyeing vats. To reduce this environmental impact, we choose solution dyeing, which integrates colour pigments when manufacturing the thread.
