For the climb, straps attach to the shell, allowing you to wear the bag on your back and hike comfortably. How do you transform the REVERSLIDE sledge into a sledge and a backpack?
This product can be converted into a backpack or a sledge thanks to its modular parts:
- In backpack mode for climbing: clipped in straps.
The adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt make it comfortable to carry. The sledge container can carry everything you need for the climb (helmet, mask, gloves, jacket, sandwich and water bottle).
- In sledge mode for the downhill: clipped in handle.
You’re all kitted out to sledge. The straps, poles and snowshoes are stored in the shell.
How do you equip yourself for the climb part when sledge hiking with the REVERSLIDE backpack?
When climbing:
- Snowshoes (max. L): 60 cm, max. W: 21 cm)
- 3-section telescopic poles, allowing you to store them in the bag for the descent
- A jacket, a pair of ski trousers or a ski suit
- Ski base layers
- A pair of après-ski or snow boots
How to equip yourself for the downhill skiing part with the REVERSLIDE backpack?
When descending:
- A leash to attach to your waist and the sledge.
- Just like for climbing: trousers, base layers, liner jacket, ski jacket and snow boots.
- A ski helmet
- A ski mask
- Ski gloves
- A pair of gaiters to prevent snow from getting in at the bottom of the legs.
What are the glide qualities of the REVERSLIDE sledge?
The glide performance of the Decathlon sledge backpack is ensured by the glide surface and the curve of the shell.

What are the features of the REVERSLIDE sledge direction control?
For turns, the curves of the REVERSLIDE sledge on the sides make it easier to control the direction.
To turn, use the pressure of your feet and body (weight and shoulders).
The curves of the shell allow you to slalom.
How do you slow down and brake with the REVERSLIDE sledge?
To slow down, it’s important to keep your feet parallel to the slope and slow down by pressing both feet on the snow.
To brake, you can take a bend at 90°C.

Why use a leash with this REVERSLIDE sledge?
We recommend using a leash attached to the sledge and your waist to keep it close at hand if you fall. You can tow the sledge if necessary.
Is this REVERSLIDE sledge suitable for children?
More technical than an ordinary sledge, we recommend the use of this sledge by children over 14 years of age (1.60 m to 1.90 m tall), so that they can really enjoy the descent.
