A FRUIT JELLY REDESIGNED FROM YOUR FEEDBACK
You found the old version would stick to its packaging and was thus not particularly easy to eat during a run. So, how did we resolve this problem? We added two stabilisers to our recipe:
- citric acid (already in the previous version),
- and sodium citrate obtained from lemons.
What's the verdict? Our 50 testers were happy to get their teeth into this new version, and loved both the taste and the melting (and non-sticky) texture!
A LOCAL PRODUCT - JUST AS WE LIKE
Wouldn't you like to know where your fruit jelly is made? OK, if you insist! It was born in a factory in the south of France, "which has been our technical partner for some fifteen years," says Juliette, a nutrition engineer.
The apple and pears are French - more on that later. The sugar, too. As for the other fruits, they are imported from European countries or further afield where the climate is suitable
WHY ARE THERE APPLES OR PEARS IN YOUR FRUIT JELLIES?
There is one key question, especially when the flavour you have chosen is citrus or strawberry/cranberry. Rest easy - this isn't some odd mixture concocted by Mildred in the canteen. No, apples and pears are just the two fruits that form the basis of our recipe. They are chosen from orchards by the supplier in the south of France we mentioned earlier.
A PRODUCT DESIGNED FOR ENDURANCE WORKOUTS
60 g of carbohydrates (=sugar) per hour of sport: this is what nutritionists recommend for workouts lasting more than 3 hours. This 25 g fruit jelly contains 21 g of carbohydrates, including 16 g of simple sugars. We therefore recommend taking your first bar after 30 minutes of activity, i.e. two per hour (or one + a gel/bar), in addition to an isotonic drink.
SO EASY TO OPEN AND CLOSE!
No more struggling to tear off the plastic with your teeth (and eating some of it while you are at it). And no more having to choose between eating it all in one go or stuffing what's left in a pocket. The adhesive strip opens easily and gently. As for the fastening, it protects your treat until the next bite!
