A FRUIT JELLY REDESIGNED THANKS TO YOUR TIPS
You thought the old version was too sticky in its packaging and hence hard to eat while running. Practically speaking, how did we solve this problem?
We added two stabilizers to our recipe ingredients:
- citric acid (present in the previous recipe),
- and sodium citrate, obtained from lemons.
What's the verdict? Our 50 testers completely validated it, both in terms of its flavour and melt-in-the-mouth texture... and non-stickiness!
LOCAL PRODUCTS, JUST WHAT WE LIKE
Aren't you curious to know where the fruit jelly that accompanies you during your races is made? OK, if you insist! It actually originated in a small factory in the south of France, “which has been our technical partner for around fifteen years,” says Juliette, a nutrition engineer.
The apples and pears are French - we'll tell you about them in just a moment. The sugar is also French. The other fruit is imported from European or other countries whose enables it to be cultivated.
WHY ARE THERE APPLES OR PEARS IN YOUR FRUIT JELLY?
This is a vital question, especially when the flavour you've chosen is citrus or strawberry-cranberry. Don't worry, it's not a strange mixture concocted by Gertrude the dinner lady. Apples and pears are simply the two fruits serving as the basis of our recipe. They are selected in orchards in the south of France by our supplier we mentioned earlier.
A PRODUCT DESIGNED FOR ENDURANCE WORKOUTS
Nutritionists recommend 60 g of carbohydrates (= sugar) per hour of sport for workouts longer than 3 hours. This 25g fruit jelly contains 21g of carbohydrates, of which 16g are simple sugars. We recommend that you bite into your first bar after 30 minutes of sport, i.e. two an hour (or one bar + one gel/one bar), in addition to an isotonic drink.
IT'S VERY EASY TO OPEN AND CLOSE!
The time when you struggled to tear off the plastic with your teeth (and ended up chewing part of it while you did so) is over. No longer are you condemned to choose between eating it all in one go or stuffing what remains into the lost recesses of your pockets.
The adhesive strip enables easy, trouble-free opening. The fastening protects your precious treasure until the next mouthful!
