Why is it important to choose a special shoe for race walking?
Stop walking with your running shoes!
Mechanical studies carried out by Decathlon SportsLab with our technical partners have enabled us to pinpoint the foot's specific needs during fitness walking: the angle of contact with the ground, the trajectory of the foot pressure areas and the intensity of the propulsion phase.
The choice of components, the geometry of the sole and the shape of the upper mean our race walking shoes will satisfy every need.
* What is the Heel Roll technology?
The Heel Roll concept is the special geometry of the sole where the rear external part of the heel is raised and rounded.
Studies conducted by the Decathlon SportsLab showed that in fitness walking, when the foot hits the ground, it tilts from the back to the front and from the outside to the inside.
Our design team created the Heel Roll geometry to naturally guide and stabilise this movement.
Composition of the sole
The sole is made of 4 elements:
- SHANK Plate: inner reinforcement enabling shock waves to be better absorbed during heel push-off, and then spread towards the forefoot for better propulsion.
- EVA foam (white): lightweight material for better cushioning.
- KALENSOLE EVA foam (orange): provides good cushioning, energy return and better stability. Robustness up to 1000 km.
- Rubber: composition designed for better grip.
Non Marking
The non-marking sole does not leave marks on floors.
Removable insole.
Removable insole for quick drying. They can also be replaced by orthopaedic insoles.
