3D hood
Wed'ze has added a hood with a three-way tightening system to this ski jacket. It is designed to move with your head without any discomfort and provide superior protection from bad weather. It is compatible with helmets.
The hood is preformed with a high collar for protecting the face in case of intense cold or strong wind. The flap of the zip closure is micro-perforated to facilitate breathing while protecting the face.
Sleeves and cuffs
Very wide and adjustable sleeves that fit over the gloves to protect you from the snow and keep you dry and warm in case of a snow shower or a fall. Elastane cuffs with a stuck thumb hole. The resulting assembly has a more slim fit so that the connection between the gloves and jacket is completely airtight.
Pockets
1 waterproof and insulated pocket for a phone (right chest) with headphone/microphone outlet so that you can still take calls.
2 hand pockets with a waterproof zip.
1 inside mesh pocket with a zip.
1 pocket on the left shoulder for the ski pass.
All the pockets have waterproof zips.
What should you wear under your skiing jacket?
To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 skiing base layer, 1 liner jacket to retain warmth, 1 ski jacket to protect you from the elements.
The first layer
This keeps you dry by wicking away the perspiration from the skin to the other layers.
The second layer
To provide warmth, you need to wear a second layer that insulates you from the cold. This function can be provided by a pullover, fleece or padded jacket.
The third layer
Protection from the outdoor elements (snow, rain and wind) by preventing them from entering (while still allowing perspiration to escape so that you do not feel "wet inside"). It should therefore ideally be waterproof and breathable. The third layer can also provide insulation in the case of lined trousers or jackets. This complements the properties of the second layer.
How can I prevent snow from entering when I fall?
The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press studs at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and draughts from entering when practising wintersports, especially in the event of a fall. It can be fastened to the trousers using the 3 loops with a press stud.
How can I be sure my jacket is strong enough?
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.
How can I best insulate my hands and feet?
Thanks to the trims of the cuffs that can be adjusted with velcros to fit over or under the gloves, snow or unpleasant draughts are prevented from entering in the event of a fall. What's more, given that the cold is a source of irritation, Wedze has added a soft fleece chin guard that protects your face to avoid any risk of neck and chin irritation.
Can I be sure my jacket will protect me well in bad weather?
To tackle bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), the FREERIDE 900 jacket was developed with a sophisticated component and assembly that prevents water from getting in and reduces wind chill. To validate the waterproof rating, the jacket was placed under a special shower to replicate the conditions that a skier may face. We finally went skiing for several days in all types of conditions to validate the waterproofing of the product.
What is the water repellent feature of my jacket for?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. The FREERIDE 900 jacket has water repellent components to prolong its resistance to inclement weather. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. Regularly restore this treatment using the products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.
Tutorial on how to wash your waterproof garment
With each wash, we recommend that you follow the set protocol to preserve all the technical features of your garment.

After three washes, restore the water repellent properties with a waterproof spray or wash-in product.
I often hear people talk about "coated" jackets. What are the advantages of the coating?
The coating is a waterproof material that is spread over the inside of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. As a result, you stay dry and hence more comfortable on the slopes
What is a membrane and what's it for?
The membrane is a very fine component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from entering while also wicking away the perspiration produced by the body. The membrane is an essential feature when it comes to staying warm and dry.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, the waterproofing of the FREERIDE 900 jacket has been enhanced by taping the seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight.
How does my ski jacket keep me warm?
This jacket is a third layer that's very protective against wind, rain, snow.
To provide warmth, you need to wear a second layer that insulates you from the cold. This function can be provided by a pullover, fleece or padded jacket. Our range includes a FREERIDE 900 padded jacket that is perfectly compatible with this jacket. It is sold separately.
What is a "breathable" jacket?
This is the capacity of the ski jacket to let the water vapour produced by the body escape during physical effort so you stay dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its total evaporative resistance RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses technical components and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that prevent condensation inside the garment.
Where can I put my ski pass when taking ski lifts?
You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket so that you can gain access to the ski lifts quickly.
What is the RECCO® system?
All our Freeride jackets and trousers are equipped with the RECCO® system.
With the RECCO® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Someone who is equipped with RECCO® reflectors and is buried in the snow can be quickly and accurately located by the emergency services using the RECCO® tracker. RECCO reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. The RECCO® technology works as a complementary measure, increasing the chances of being found in time.
