Design history:
All our crampons have been designed and manufactured in our factory in Chamonix (France), at the base of Mont Blanc.
In the field, they are put to the test by our team of technical partners and high-altitude guides.
Number of studs:
- 12-point crampons: 2 points, 7 side points, 3 spurs
- Asymmetrical crampons: 3 inner points on each foot are lined up for maximum traction on overhang. The 3 exterior points follow contours of boot shape to provide a good level of stability.
Binding system:
- Back binding system: removable back heel for shoes with rear welts
- Flexible back binding system:
semi-automatic with soft plastic clip for shoes without front welts or automatic with metal clip for shoes with front welts.
- Note: the binding systems at the front and back are fully removable and can be replaced with all other fastening systems in the SIMOND crampon range (sold separately).
Size adjustment:
- Adjusts to boot sizes from 35 to 48.
- Size adjustment using the centre bar + strip/stud.
- Crampons adjust by default to smaller to medium size boots (without bar sticking out at the back).
For larger size boots, you can change bar position at front end by shifting it.
Anti-bots:
- Crampons are supplied with anti-bot plates. They help to prevent build up of snow under the crampons for safer climbing.
Crampon bag:
- Crampons are supplied with a crampon bag.
Rust resistant:
- Rust resistant surface treatment on all metallic parts.
