THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CUSHIONING
To give you optimal comfort and performance when running, we concentrated our attention on the sole which features 2 concepts:
- K-Ring: a ring located in the heel to improve cushioning at the rear and spread the shockwave in order to provide effective protection for the body: joints, back, knees, etc.
- Kalensole: improves cushioning by 34% and propulsion by 25% compared with standard foam and lasts up to 1,000 km.
THE COMFORT OF THE KD500
In order to run regularly over long distances, foot comfort is of the utmost importance.
So, we tried to improve the level of comfort with the following:
- an ultra comfortable 'half-slipper' upper
- enhanced cushioning at the forefoot thanks to a thicker sole
- a revised forefoot area
- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction

The KIPRUN KD500 improves propulsion (acceleration) with each stride thanks to the sole geometry combined with the Kalensole foam. You can now make progress and improve your personal best times from 10 km to marathon distance.
WHY CHOOSE A LIGHTWEIGHT SHOE?
The research and development studies have shown that a lighter product improves running performance by reducing energy consumption.To design the KD500, there was no compromise in terms of comfort and resistance and the decision was taken to use lighter components and an optimised sole design.
The result? The KIPRUN KD500 shoe is 4% lighter than the KIPRUN FAST.

ADAPTED TO ALL TYPES OF STRIDES
Thanks to the exclusive K-ONLY technology and denser foam located under the first metatarsal, you no longer need to know your stride type: over-pronator, under-pronator or neutral!
A 6-month study conducted with the Luxembourg Institute of Health* showed that the K-Only concept suits all strides.

In this way, we choose the components, create the prototypes and test and validate the products with laboratory and field tests.

All our shoes are field tested for wear and comfort by male runners not associated with Decathlon. The aim is to test, improve and validate the product as objectively as possible so that you can run without a problem.

They are then tested by a panel of users under the real-life conditions for which they are designed. Before you put them on, they have already covered several thousands of kilometres and completed hundreds of races ranging from 10 km to marathon.
