The research and development studies have shown that a lighter product improves running performance by reducing energy consumption.To design the KD LIGHT, there was no compromise in terms of comfort and resistance and the decision was taken to use lighter components and an optimised sole design.
The result? The KIPRUN KD LIGHT shoe is 9% lighter than the KIPRUN FAST.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CUSHIONING
For long-lasting running performance with optimum comfort, our R&D teams have developed this special foam which meets the needs of runners' needs and guarantees cushioning for 800 kilometres.
The Kalensole foam improves cushioning by 34% and energy response by 25% when compared with standard conventional foams.
REBOUND WITH EACH STRIDE
Better performance and times in the 10 km marathon thanks to the UP'BAR technology and TPE (Pebax®) located under the sole, the KIPRUN FAST improves dynamism (rebound) and provides additional propulsion with each stride.
THE COMFORT OF THE KD LIGHT
In order to run regularly over long distances, foot comfort is of the utmost importance.
So, we tried to improve the level of comfort with the following:
- a new collar at the back of the shoe ensuring excellent heel support and ideal softness.
- a preformed sole made of open-cell PU (polyurethane) foam.
- a revised forefoot area
- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction.
EXCELLENT ROAD-HOLDING ABILITY ON WET ROADS AND BENDS
Our sole is designed like a car tyre for running performance without losing control in wet conditions.
The new sole geometry combined with a new rubber component gives the KIPRUN KD LIGHT excellent grip on wet ground, even when running at top speed.

The Kiprun KD Light is the product of Decathlon footwear expertise acquired over more than 10 years.
Caroline and Pierre-Emmanuel (product managers), Stéphane (project engineer) and Nicolas (designer), who are running enthusiasts, develop your Kiprun shoes with the help of a network of ambassadors: the runners at Decathlon, sports coaches and you!
In this way, we choose the components, create the prototypes and test and validate the products with laboratory and field tests.

All our shoes are field tested for wear and comfort by male runners not associated with Decathlon. The aim is to test, improve and validate the product as objectively as possible so that you can run without a problem.

The Kalenji team includes runners of all levels of ability. Every day, we test our products to try them out and improve them. They are then tested by a panel of users under the real-life conditions for which they are designed. Before you put them on, they have already covered several thousands of kilometres and completed hundreds of races ranging from 10 km to marathon.
