Modern dance wear is much more flexible than that of ballet, where it is often decided by the teacher.
You need to be comfortable and able to move freely. Outfits combining loose bottoms + close-fitting top or close-fitting bottoms + loose top are ideal.
You can also try layering items to change up your look (T-shirt + tank top or T-shirt + crop top)!
