You have to stay covered and protected from the wind and rain; the material has to be durable while at the same time being able to move about freely. The smock top can be worn over your jersey to meet these criteria. It pulls on easily, has no zipper, and it has a fitted cut even when worn over both a jersey and a base layer.

The neck fastening allows you to stay dry even when it is open. We added a double rip-tab to ensure it is easy to put on.
The mesh lining keeps you from being in contact with the waterproof fabric.
