Measuring the thermal insulation of our shoes:
Based on the field and lab tests carried out to measure the perception of cold with a panel of users, we gauge the thermal insulation of our boots when stationary (static) and when moving (dynamic). It is therefore possible to accurately know down to what temperature your boots will protect you. The comfort limit temperature ratings are indicated for the boots. We take into account the differences in the perception of cold between men and women in our data.
Footwear waterproofing test:
Tested in the laboratory, the boots provide optimum waterproofing. The boots are initially immersed in water with pressurised air inside to check for bubbles on the surface of the boot. Then they are placed on a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half-immersed in water. We check that the inside of the boot stays perfectly dry. These laboratory tests are supplemented by use and ageing tests in the field.
3 levels of waterproofing:
During the waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, with 2000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 4 km walk), 4000 flexes (approx. equivalent to an 8 km walk) and 8000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 16 km walk).
Waterproof rating of the boot:
This model of shoe has been tested with up to 4000 flexes, equivalent to 8km of walking.
SNOWCONTACT technology:
SNOWCONTACT soles are designed using a specific component and lug pattern to provide the best possible traction and grip. SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than traditional soles on snow. When walking on ice, the only way to ensure optimum safety is to add ice grippers to your boots.
Field tests:
This shoe has been tested in the field by hikers accompanied by the product manager in climatic conditions adapted to its use. In particular, we analyse the technical elements of the shoe to check the product against its specifications and any feedback that you send us.
Lab tests:
Our engineers conduct laboratory tests to guarantee your full satisfaction in use. We validate the following elements among other things: strength of the eyelets and straps, strength of the glued assemblies, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of the sole and upper components and accelerated ageing.
