Waterproofing
The Quechua tents are tested in a laboratory (pitched tent under 200 litres/sqm/hour during 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rain shower, as well as test missions in the field.
Polyester flysheet (PE) 75 deniers, coated polyurethane (inside), water repellent treatment (outer), 75D PE groundsheet.
Seams waterproofed with thermobonded strips.
Breathable and water repellent 66D PE room with mosquito-netted part to prevent contact with condensation.
Wind resistance
We test all of our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To guarantee resistance to wind, the tent must be pitched properly, tight without excess, with all guyropes set around the tent. It will remain habitable in windspeeds up to 70 km/h near the ground.
Ventilation and limitation of condensation
Room with mosquito net parts for ventilation and parts in water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Large ventilation on the front of the flysheet of the tent as well as ventilation at the feet.
To limit condensation inside your tent, it must be correctly pitched, the cloth tight, not excessively. The use of ventilation and good air circulation reduces the damp inside your tent.
